cardinal

Cape Cod is a great place for birdwatching. You never know what you may see. This cardinal along with about a hundred other birds, responded to an electronic caller. Calling songbirds with this particular call causes them to “mob” or attack the electronic caller. This will draw every songbird within an earshot of the call right in close. It’s really something to see.
Calling songbirds is really quite an experience. If you are still enough, and wearing full camoflage, the birds sometimes land on your head or shoulder. If they don’t land on you, they will land in the nearby bushes, sometimes inches away. This offers some great observation and photo opportunities.
